What’s New in December

Whelp, we had a big change this past weekend! Last week, our landlords gave us the news that we got some poor results to an inspection and have to do a huge remodel of the kitchen in the house we were renting. They gave us the option to vacate for a few weeks to months or break our lease. We opted to break the lease, stay with family for the next month or so and start our house hunt after the new year. So, within a few days we were packed, moved mostly to storage, and settled in at my parents house this past weekend. I’m so grateful to have family close by to support us and we are very comfortable but it’s a big change […]

Reflecting on this weekend.

This weekend I had the chance to reflect on all the things I’m thankful for. I’m thankful for my family. Especially my husband, he is the most wonderful and supportive man a gal could ask for <3 I also have awesome parents, sisters and in-laws. Sorry, I have to brag on them for a second, they’re just an incredible support system. My parents were out of town this year for Thanksgiving so I spent Thursday with my other family (Jeff’s side) and as always it felt like home. Lots of yummy food and good company. Friday night, a few of us went to dinner and a movie – we saw Murder on the Orient Express, my pick, and I thought it was really good! […]

Weekending: Fall Favorites

This weekend was the best one of the fall yet! Started each morning with my favorite pumpkin spice almond creamer – this stuff is seriously so good! And it only has 3 grams of sugar, what!? Saturday was family day – I’m going to miss my parents for Thanksgiving this year since they’re traveling out of state but we spent the day together Saturday to make up for it. A family photo shoot Saturday morning, breakfast at Briarpatch on Park Ave and then the Festival of Trees at the Orlando Art Museum. I’m so thankful for this day with my family, we hadn’t done it in a while! Sunday, I got to host my first ever Stella & Dot Trunk Show! I’ve absolutely fallen in […]

November Book Reviews

Looking for a Thanksgiving weekend read? Here’s three books you should pick up: Midnight at the Bright Ideas Bookstore by Matthew Sullivan After seeing this quite a few times on past linkups I was really excited to get a copy to read. It lived up to my expectations and was really good. It’s the story of a woman who works at a bookstore trying to solve the suicide of a friend. In looking into his life, she has to confront her past. There’s something about characters who have a love for books within a story. You can definitely relate to them. I didn’t see the twist coming but it wasn’t too outrageous. It was a quick read for me. Received a copy from Netgalley in […]

Sick Day Survival Guide

With the ups and downs of the weather this season I feel like I’m battling a cold every other week. Rarely do I completely stop and take a sick day but sometimes it’s inevitable. Whether I’m out of commission for a while or just trying to make it through my normal routine while feeling unwell, there’s always a few things that I must do to get back to 100%. Hot Tea with lemon and honey. My favorite tea when I’m not feeling great is red rooibos. It’s caffeine free so I can have it any time of day. It has a very medicinal quality but I actually really enjoy the flavor. Lots and lots of water. Whenever I feel a cold coming on I drink […]

Catching Up

Happy November! I can’t believe the holidays are just around the corner! The last few weeks have been me catching up from an incredibly busy end of summer. Took advantage of Magical Dining Month and had an incredible date night! The pups kicked off football season. VACAY! (More to come on that) Helped my beautiful sister get ready for her very first homecoming <3 Went to a Fall themed wine and paint night. Celebrated my favorite little man’s first birthday. Spent a girls weekend at the Epcot Food & Wine Festival! Every other free minute has been taken […]

TSwift Favorites Playlist

I’m not a crazy, spend all day deciphering a tweet type of Taylor Swift fan but I do like her and most of her songs. And I love a good throwback from her country days. With the news of her new song coming out today and a new album on the way, I thought it would be fun to share my favorites from each album 🙂 1989 – Blank Space Red – Everything Has Changed Speak Now – Mean Fearless – Love Story Taylor Swift – Tim McGraw Honorable mention: Shake It Off – I quickly tired of the song but it has the BEST video!
