Weekending with my Valentine

Weekending With My Valentine on My (Sort Of) Adult Life

Happy Monday my friends! For those of you who have a three day weekend, I’m quite jealous but enjoy! I wish I had off, I’m at the office today, I’m sure it’s going to be a quiet day. Oh well, now on to a Valentine’s Day Weekend Recap!

On Friday night, I met up with some friends for a little Galentines Day. We had a quick dinner and drinks at a new restaurant called The Social House. I had an Asian Black Pepper Burger that was delish and we shared some of their signature hash tots – a great choice!

Then we saw the new movie How To Be Single. It was hilarious!! I love the actresses that starred in it and they did not disappoint at all! It was a fun night to kick off the weekend!

On Saturday, I was super productive. I had a meeting for church first thing in the morning then Jeff and I toured a possible wedding venue (ah! <3). Afterwards, Jeff headed to work so I treated myself to a little shopping trip to Ulta, Hobby Lobby and Target! A few of my favorite stores 🙂 I spent the rest of the night working on Jeff’s Valentine present. It was a smash book – which is basically a scrapbook on Steroids – and it came out pretty awesome!

Sunday was Valentine’s Day! I slept in, which I hadn’t done in weeks so that was heavenly. Then, we headed to a late brunch at Soco. We decided to share a few things: crab stuffed deviled eggs, pork belly biscuits with Andouille sausage gravy and their homemade pop tart pastries. Plus bottomless mimosas for me and Bloody Mary’s for Jeff.

Their homemade pop tarts are my favorite part of brunch at Soco, they have a different flavor every weekend. This weekend was strawberry and cream cheese, with heart icing! So good!!

Next, we took a walk around the downtown Farmer’s Market and decided to feed the ducks and swans at Lake Eola. The weather was so beautiful!

After enjoying the nice weather, we went home to relax. In my opinion, we have perfected the art of Valentine’s Day. Brunch or lunch out, a fun activity and a night in with comfy clothes, cuddling and dinner. Jeff cooked us a fantastic steak dinner and when I came to the table I had a surprise waiting for me!

He covered it all: Roses, Chocolate, an adorable balloon and a sweet card. He also got me a warmer candle that is the perfect fit! Best fiance ever!

I love celebrating love! How was your Valentine’s Day?

It looks like you had a fabulous Valentine’s Day! I think you have perfected the art of Valentine’s Day! I love your plan! I can’t wait to see How To Be Single. I heart Rebel Wilson. Those Pop Tarts look so good. I’ve been wanting to make some home made but haven’t. I wish we had somewhere around here that made them!! Hope you’re having a fabulous Monday!

    • Thanks Leslie! We learned a couple of years ago that dinner at home is way better than fighting the crowds. I heart Rebel Wilson too, even though I shouldn’t be surprised by what she says, I always am and it cracks me up! I could eat those pop tarts everyday 🙂 Have a great week, thanks for stopping by!
