The Sanctum Cafe

This weekend I had the opportunity to try a spot I have been dying to get to: The Sanctum Cafe near Downtown Orlando. My friends have raved about their coffee and gluten-free options so it has been on my radar and I finally got a chance to see what it was all about. According to their website, they are a one stop shop in Orlando for delicious coffee, espresso & tea, non-GMO and Organic Food, Craft Beer & Wine, & what have been described as “the best freakin’ smoothies in the whole world”. They’re a vegetarian restaurant with most options being vegan and the majority of the menu is also gluten-free. They were founded on the idea that healthy food can also be wildly well […]

3-Day Weekending in Siesta Key

There is a reason that Siesta Key has been voted America’s #1 Beach – such a great place to spend a long weekend. It’s a beautiful beach with tons of activities, the most delicious places to eat, great happy hours and a large supply of vacation rentals for both couples and families. We’ve been a few times and love going back. This past weekend we stayed with my family for a long weekend celebrating my sister’s 14th birthday and although we had some unfortunate and uncharacteristic rainy weather it was still a great trip! Where We Stayed  You MUST stay in Siesta Key Village – it’s the best part of the Key! We always stay in this area when we go, it’s on the tip […]

2017 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival

This weekend was a busy one! The weather was absolutely perfect and I took full advantage. Saturday morning I was up bright and early to volunteer and then spent the rest of the day with friends at Disney. First, we had lunch at The Boathouse at Disney Springs. So yummy and relaxing sitting on their outdoor patio. Then, we headed to Epcot for their Flower and Garden Festival! This was my 2nd trip to the Flower and Garden Festival this year and I had a lot more time to spend and see all of the beautiful pieces of Garden art! They also had some neat chalk art and a wonderful butterfly garden! I think I may enjoy this even more than their Food & Wine […]

Artsy Weekending

We have a pretty neat art scene in Central Florida and there is always festivals popping up here and there. This weekend was all about soaking up the art! Saturday I spent the morning at the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival. It’s truly amazing what they are able to create! My favorite was definitely the Beauty and the Beast pieces. I didn’t have much time to spend but plan on going back before the end of the festival. I spent Sunday afternoon at the Winter Park Art Festival. Good friends, frozen lemonades, lots of food and rows and rows of art! It’s a really cool local festival! Do you have any unique art festivals in your city? I’d love to hear about them! Linking up […]

Adventuring Through Boston

I had an opportunity to explore a new city in September and it did not disappoint! Jeff and I had never been to Boston so when his sister moved up there this summer we took the first chance we could to go up and visit! What I loved about Boston: The History. It’s just a really cool feeling to walk on streets that American legends walked on too. The Weather. Fall is a great time to visit the northeast. A cool breeze and sunshine…it was a wonderful break from the Florida heat! The Food! Travelling and eating out on a gluten-free diet isn’t always the easiest but the food was delicious every place we went and it was overall a VERY gluten-free friendly city. My favorite […]

Long Weekending in Savannah

This weekend Jeff and I spent a long weekend away in Savannah to celebrate our 5-year dating anniversary. It was my first time in Savannah and I really enjoyed it. We stayed at a B&B, which was a lovely experience and it was so nice to spend some quality time together. We headed up early Friday morning and our first stop was a round of golf at Bacon Park Golf Course. It was perfect weather for golf (much better than the Florida heat). After enjoying our time out on the course, we headed to The Amethyst Garden Inn to check-in. We were  greeted warmly and the old Victorian mansion was beautiful. Our room was perfect for us and I really enjoyed staying here throughout the weekend. There […]

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley

One of my favorite parts of living in Orlando is impromptu trips to the theme parks! When my friend asked me to go to Universal Studios this past weekend I quickly said YES because I hadn’t had a chance yet to go to the newest part of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley! We started the day off in Universal Studios and made our way through the park hitting up Rip Ride Rock It, The Mummy, and Transformers – a few of my favorites. We stopped for lunch at Finnegan’s – a great place for lunch in the park. And for dessert – Dippin Dots! A must have at the theme parks! Finally, we made it to Diagon Alley and I was […]

Travel Bucket List(s)

I have a serious case of Wanderlust. There is so much out there in this great, big world that I want to see and I’ve seen so little of it. Travelling is so exciting to me, whether it’s a weekend getaway or a longer trip. I get a rush from stepping on a plane and feeling like an adventure has just begun (once I get through that annoying security.) I think that my love of travel comes from the memories I have travelling with my grandparents when I was younger. Of all of the things I can remember about them, my trips with them stick out the most. We flew to Detroit many times where their families lived and it was so much fun to […]

A Family That Drinks Together, Stays Together!

Loving all things Disney is sort of a requirement in my family. This past weekend we had a short staycation for the Epcot Food & Wine Festival. Even though I only live about 45 minutes away from the parks, I love taking a weekend here and there to stay on property and get the full Disney experience. I was really excited for this trip because a big group of my family was going and the Food & Wine Festival is one of my favorite events!
