Weekending: Welcome Home & Wedding Dresses

This weekend was non-stop but filled with lots of celebrating! On Saturday we had a surprise party for my brother-in-law who just returned from his deployment. It’s so great to have him home safe and sound and we are all so proud! Hearing him talk about his experience and how grateful he his to be home with some everyday conveniences really makes you stop and appreciate our country and the people who serve it. I made him a banner and cupcakes! Sunday was another special day, this time I got to join one of my best friends shopping for her wedding dress. She tried on so many beautiful options and I think she chose the perfect one! It was such a fun day. I’m going […]

Friday Favorites: June 2017

Oh man, it has been a rough week. I had some dental work done on Monday and have been struggling ever since. Thankfully, the weekend is almost here and although it never seems to stay that way, I don’t have too much planned. I’m looking forward to some rest, just trying to stay positive and count my blessings. On that note, here’s some favorites from this month: 1. Father’s Day We had a simple yet very special Father’s Day this year. We started with breakfast out with Jeff’s grandfather and at night we had one big, blended family dinner at Chuy’s. We are so lucky to have three supportive dads to celebrate. 2. New Restaurants I have been all about trying new restaurants lately. I […]

Memorial Day Weekending

This weekend was THE BEST. 3-day weekends should occur at least once a month. I was a little sluggish today at work though trying to recover from all the fun and sun 🙂 But I wasn’t the only one so it’s okay! Friday night the pups had a play date! I went out to dinner and drinks with friends at World of Beer and we sat outside so the fur babies could join. One of my friends just got a puppy so they made a new friend too. I had this amazing Pink Lemonade cider while we there – sooo tasty. Afterwards, we hung around for the movie in the park at Lake Eola. It was cool but there were a lot of people and […]

Mother’s Day Weekending 2017

This weekend was all about celebrating the special moms in our lives. I’m lucky to now have two moms that could not be more supportive, loving, giving, understanding and best of all always know how to have a good time. On Saturday, Jeff and I took our moms to brunch at one of our favorite spots Dixie Cream Cafe and then blueberry picking at Beck’s Brothers Farm. It was a blast and ended with us running through the farm in the pouring rain. And we now have a ton of fresh blueberries to eat and make some fun recipes.        Sunday, my sisters and I made my mom a yummy Italian dinner and gave her presents. Jeff had to work so it was […]

Easter Weekending

My heart is so full after this Easter weekend! We had a great day yesterday, I love the fact that we are able to get everyone together from both mine and Jeff’s side as one big family. Yesterday we hosted everyone for church and lunch and had so much fun spending time together <3 Lunch was sooo good: ham, chicken, arroz con gandules, asparagus casserole, salad, cinammon sugar carrots, chips with my famous guacamole, and deviled eggs. Andddd blackberry lemonade mimosas! For desert we had fruit, pineapple upside down cake and nests made from pretzels, peanut butter and chocolate. And just for all of our Star Wars fans in the family, my mom made Star Wars shaped jello treats! All that we need now is […]

Mother’s Day Weekending

This weekend was a great one! Saturday was a relaxing day full of coffee, donuts, reading, cleaning and laundry. A much needed no plans Saturday! Sunday, I got to celebrate the amazing mothers in my life! First, we went to church with Jeff’s family and then headed to his grandparents house to give some lovin to his mom, grandmother and aunt. Afterwards, my sisters and I took my mom to a food truck rally and to see the Mother’s Day movie. The movie was so good and I loved spending time with them! I hope that everyone had a great Mother’s Day weekend, and for anyone who has a tough time on Mother’s Day my thoughts are with you. Happy Monday! Linking up with Biana […]

Back in Action

Well hello there! I took a little break from blogging over the last couple of weeks. I am having lots of anxiety this month and was just feeling uninspired. I never want this space to be something that I have to do or another task on my to-do list. I never plan on becoming a full-time blogger, not that I don’t think it’s an awesome career for those who quit their job to blog. I think that’s great! But for me this is an outlet and a hobby. And sometimes you need to take a little break from your creative hobbies to recharge and come back with a fresh mind. Part of the reason I’ve had so much anxiety lately is because I’ve been craving […]

Easter Weekending

This weekend was non-stop for me but lots of fun! Here’s some highlights: Friday night we had dinner with a bunch of friends to celebrate a birthday and a going away. It was bitter sweet since some our friends will be moving away 🙁 Saturday was for coloring Easter eggs with my mom, sister and best friend. A tradition! We tried all kinds of egg decorating methods: shaving cream, decoupage, a “razzle dazzle” kit…it was lots of fun experimenting and they all came out pretty good! Sunday morning we went to Church and then had lunch with Jeff’s family. We headed to my parents for dinner. We had ham, green bean casserole and twice baked potatoes. It was soooo good! And the Easter Bunny left […]

Weekending: Spring is here!

Well, we sprang forward this weekend so I’m sure we are all needing extra coffee this Monday morning! I’m happy Spring is officially here though, and we had the warm weather to prove it all weekend! My family had our first BBQ of the year on Saturday to celebrate a big promotion for my Stepdad – I love any reason to get the family together, eat yummy BBQ and play some yard games! Jeff and I are the reigning corn hole champs! Sunday was a lazy day for me, after a really early morning volunteering Saturday morning and the BBQ for the rest of the day, I was drained. So, I caught up on a bunch of episodes of The Voice. It’s looking like such a good […]

Weekending: Quiet and Productive

Happy Monday! Another weekend flew by… *sigh* But I got exactly what I wanted this weekend: some time to relax, some binge watching and a lot done around the house! Friday night was the highlight of the weekend. After work, I met Jeff at his grandparents house to celebrate his grandmothers birthday. It’s was great to catch up with all of his family. Saturday morning I was really lazy. I woke up late and stayed in bed catching up on TV shows for a while. I went on a Whole30 approved grocery shopping trip, made a big salad for lunch and then went on a walk with a friend. Saturday night my diet went out the window when I did not want one thing that […]
