Thanksgiving Weekending & A Grateful Heart

As I started to write this post with my usual “How is it Monday already?” I realized that I can’t even complain this Monday. My heart is so full after a wonderful weekend of family, friends, making good memories, eating good food and a little Christmas cheer. Thanksgiving may be over but I’m still reflecting on the many blessings that I was reminded of this weekend. Even though I’m not all that excited to be back in the office, I’m grateful to have a job that allowed me a four day holiday weekend. I feel for everyone who had to work on Thanksgiving (including mine and Jeff’s sisters who were definitely missed this year but it’s part of their jobs to create happy holiday memories […]

All Things Friday

Happy Friday! I’m sure everyone has lots to do this weekend to prepare for Thanksgiving, I sure do! I’m really getting into the holiday spirit now and jamming out to Christmas music! It’s time for a round up of my favorite things from this week! Linking up with Momfessionals for Friday Favorites and A.Liz Adventures for Five on Friday! One//Peace It has been a rough week with all of the violence across our world. It’s sad, it’s appalling, it’s scary. My prayers have been with the people of Paris and all of the countries and communities that have been targeted. In times like this, it can be terrifying to continue living our lives but all I can do is find peace in the Lord, appreciate […]

What’s on the Thanksgiving Menu

Holy Turkey! Thanksgiving is a week away! I’m so so excited to be hosting Thanksgiving this year but I’m also nervous and just hoping and praying that we have enough food and that everyone has a really good time. Deciding on the menu was a big de-stresser. I’m doing a mix of the classics and throwing in some fancy pants dishes here and there. Here’s what I have planned: The Teasers The Main Event Are you drooling yet? Sweet Stuff We will also have the classics: Pumpkin, Pecan and Apple pies. You can never have too much desert on a holiday, right? 🙂 Drinks That should cover it! I’m ready to get cooking and eat all of this amazingness! Did I miss anything? What’s on […]

Being Grateful

Today, as I stopped to think about my appreciation for our service members, I starting thinking about all the wonderful things I have to be grateful for. I’m grateful to be an American. I feel so lucky to be born in this country. There is so much turmoil and tension between every group imaginable right now and sometimes its overwhelming and scary. But when I really think about it, when I follow updates on the EU refugee crisis, when I read about the people living in unbelievable poverty in developing countries, when I watch documentaries showing children in some countries traveling 4 hours to go to school every day happy for the opportunity to learn, I think Wow, I am so blessed. And not in […]

November Goals

Now that I’ve recovered from Halloween Weekend its full speed ahead into November! I love that I have this space where I can set goals for myself and track my progress. Here’s what I want to get accomplished this month: Most importantly, Give Thanks Everyday.  Get some exercise at least 3 times a week and once on the weekends. This whole working at a desk job thing is not working for me fitness-wise. I seriously need to commit to this! Plan for Thanksgiving. Since we are hosting Thanksgiving for the first time this year I have to be organized! I’ve already started meal planning but I still have a lot to do. Finish my Fall Bucket List. I’ve crossed a few things off but I […]
