Weekending: Welcome Home & Wedding Dresses

This weekend was non-stop but filled with lots of celebrating! On Saturday we had a surprise party for my brother-in-law who just returned from his deployment. It’s so great to have him home safe and sound and we are all so proud! Hearing him talk about his experience and how grateful he his to be home with some everyday conveniences really makes you stop and appreciate our country and the people who serve it. I made him a banner and cupcakes! Sunday was another special day, this time I got to join one of my best friends shopping for her wedding dress. She tried on so many beautiful options and I think she chose the perfect one! It was such a fun day. I’m going […]

Weekending: Orlando Eats

All I can think about from this weekend is how much food we ate! A nice family dinner, a BBQ, late night bar food, Sunday brunch…it feels like all we did! The good news is I have some great Orlando spots to share. Dinner at Bella Tuscany  Bella Tuscany is in the Windermere area which is right outside of Disney, so I highly recommend venturing out there for dinner if you are ever visiting the parks. This was only our second time eating there but it’s quickly become a favorite. The food is incredible! And there are plenty of gluten-free options which is rare for an Italian restaurant. The menu is seasonal with daily specials and you can tell immediately that they are original, handmade […]

The Sanctum Cafe

This weekend I had the opportunity to try a spot I have been dying to get to: The Sanctum Cafe near Downtown Orlando. My friends have raved about their coffee and gluten-free options so it has been on my radar and I finally got a chance to see what it was all about. According to their website, they are a one stop shop in Orlando for delicious coffee, espresso & tea, non-GMO and Organic Food, Craft Beer & Wine, & what have been described as “the best freakin’ smoothies in the whole world”. They’re a vegetarian restaurant with most options being vegan and the majority of the menu is also gluten-free. They were founded on the idea that healthy food can also be wildly well […]

3-Day Weekending in Siesta Key

There is a reason that Siesta Key has been voted America’s #1 Beach – such a great place to spend a long weekend. It’s a beautiful beach with tons of activities, the most delicious places to eat, great happy hours and a large supply of vacation rentals for both couples and families. We’ve been a few times and love going back. This past weekend we stayed with my family for a long weekend celebrating my sister’s 14th birthday and although we had some unfortunate and uncharacteristic rainy weather it was still a great trip! Where We Stayed  You MUST stay in Siesta Key Village – it’s the best part of the Key! We always stay in this area when we go, it’s on the tip […]

Memorial Day Weekending

This weekend was THE BEST. 3-day weekends should occur at least once a month. I was a little sluggish today at work though trying to recover from all the fun and sun 🙂 But I wasn’t the only one so it’s okay! Friday night the pups had a play date! I went out to dinner and drinks with friends at World of Beer and we sat outside so the fur babies could join. One of my friends just got a puppy so they made a new friend too. I had this amazing Pink Lemonade cider while we there – sooo tasty. Afterwards, we hung around for the movie in the park at Lake Eola. It was cool but there were a lot of people and […]

Mother’s Day Weekending 2017

This weekend was all about celebrating the special moms in our lives. I’m lucky to now have two moms that could not be more supportive, loving, giving, understanding and best of all always know how to have a good time. On Saturday, Jeff and I took our moms to brunch at one of our favorite spots Dixie Cream Cafe and then blueberry picking at Beck’s Brothers Farm. It was a blast and ended with us running through the farm in the pouring rain. And we now have a ton of fresh blueberries to eat and make some fun recipes.        Sunday, my sisters and I made my mom a yummy Italian dinner and gave her presents. Jeff had to work so it was […]

#MyPerfectWorld

This weekend I was invited by Influenster and Origins to the My Perfect World Launch Party at Disney Springs. So, I grabbed a friend and we headed out for the afternoon. What a change they’ve made to Disney Springs, so many shops and restaurants. It’s a great place to spend a Saturday afternoon, they have some of my favorite stores now: Origins, Kate Spade, Francesca’s, Pandora, Alex & Ani, Sephora….the list goes on and on. We headed straight for Origins first. They were re-launching the My Perfect World line and we got to enjoy mini-facials and then have our makeup done. They also had refreshments, a charcoal caricature artist and tea leaf readings. I got to test out all of the My Perfect World products […]

Easter Weekending

My heart is so full after this Easter weekend! We had a great day yesterday, I love the fact that we are able to get everyone together from both mine and Jeff’s side as one big family. Yesterday we hosted everyone for church and lunch and had so much fun spending time together <3 Lunch was sooo good: ham, chicken, arroz con gandules, asparagus casserole, salad, cinammon sugar carrots, chips with my famous guacamole, and deviled eggs. Andddd blackberry lemonade mimosas! For desert we had fruit, pineapple upside down cake and nests made from pretzels, peanut butter and chocolate. And just for all of our Star Wars fans in the family, my mom made Star Wars shaped jello treats! All that we need now is […]

Soaking Up the Florida Sunshine

I have been doing a great job lately with not cramming so much into the weekends and taking the time to relax and unwind from the hectic work week. This is a huge deal for me because I have always been the type of person to go go go and plan something for every spare minute I have! On Saturday, we had absolutely beautiful weather: mid-seventies, sunny and breezy. So, Jeff and I took advantage of it and went out to the beach for a relaxing morning. We have lots of nearby beaches but we chose to go to Jetty Park this time. Jetty Park is a great spot because they have parking, a pier to fish off of and watch the cruise ships go […]

Adventuring Through Boston

I had an opportunity to explore a new city in September and it did not disappoint! Jeff and I had never been to Boston so when his sister moved up there this summer we took the first chance we could to go up and visit! What I loved about Boston: The History. It’s just a really cool feeling to walk on streets that American legends walked on too. The Weather. Fall is a great time to visit the northeast. A cool breeze and sunshine…it was a wonderful break from the Florida heat! The Food! Travelling and eating out on a gluten-free diet isn’t always the easiest but the food was delicious every place we went and it was overall a VERY gluten-free friendly city. My favorite […]
