I have a serious case of Wanderlust. There is so much out there in this great, big world that I want to see and I’ve seen so little of it. Travelling is so exciting to me, whether it’s a weekend getaway or a longer trip. I get a rush from stepping on a plane and feeling like an adventure has just begun (once I get through that annoying security.)
I think that my love of travel comes from the memories I have travelling with my grandparents when I was younger. Of all of the things I can remember about them, my trips with them stick out the most. We flew to Detroit many times where their families lived and it was so much fun to see everybody, play with second and third cousins and eat at the restaurants they loved. We took road trips and I got to be the navigator with a giant fold out map. This was back before iPhones and GPS and even though they probably knew where they were going, I felt very important. I will always cherish these memories. But we never really ventured much beyond the east coast…I have never even been outside of the U.S., not even on a cruise! Needless to say, I have a lot of places to go.
Now that I’m out of college and we have some disposal income being DINK’s and all (double-income, no kids…I just recently learned that term), travelling is one of my top priorities! So, where to go?
Well, I actually have two Travel Bucket Lists: one for the U.S. and one for the rest of the world. There’s still a lot of places in this country that I would love see!
U.S. Travel Bucket List
- California (Wine Country)
- Park City
- Salt Lake City
World Travel Bucket List
- Caribbean Islands
My goal is to visit all of these places before I turn 35. (That about one domestic and one international trip per year). It would probably just make the most sense to audition for The Amazing Race and knock out a couple at once….I’ll work on that.
What’s on your travel bucket list? What’s a favorite place that you’ve visited?
