Show Us Your Books {May 2017}

Linking up with Steph and Jana for Show Us Your Books. This was a good month for books. I would recommend all of these!

The Marriage Pact by Michelle Richmond – 4 stars

Received from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. A newlywed couple gets themselves sucked into a secret, dark society. It s equal parts creepy, intriguing and unbelievable. Wasn t sure how I felt about the ending, it seemed like a let down but I didn t exactly hate it. Overall, a great story because it really sucks you in. I stayed up a few nights much later than I should have because I didn t want to put it down!

Everything You Want Me to Be by Mindy Mejia – 4 stars

Received from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review. This is a traditional, who dunnit novel. It follows the few months before and after the murder of a high school senior told from her own and others perspectives. Everyone is a suspect in this one and I thought it was really good. It was really up in the air who the murderer was until the very end.

Talking as Fast as I can by Lauren Graham – 5 stars

Lauren Graham is one of my favorite actresses and her fiction novel was a little bit of a let down for me but this made up for it. I love her personality and learning about her life and experiences. Any Gilmore Girls fan would enjoy this of course, but she also had a lot of insight into acting and writing. I especially liked the Kitchen Timer exercise she talks about and want to implement that to be a better writer. I listened to this on Audible and it was definitely fun hearing her narrate her own story.

The Last Letter from Your Lover by JoJo Moyes – 3 stars

Another Audible listen. I always enjoy a Moyes novel, my favorite love stories. This one was a little slow in some parts, especially the middle but overall good.

Next up: I Like My Life, Hatchet Girls and The Shack.

Happy Reading!
