Weekending
How is it Monday already!? Time to get back to those “sponserberleries”…bring on the coffee! At least I had a fun weekend!
Friday night, I headed to my parents to celebrate my stepdad’s birthday. It was a blast, we had a bunch of family over and stayed up way too late playing games and talking. There ended up being a giant, impromptu slumber party at my parents house. It was one of those nights that we’ll all remember forever.
Saturday, I was super excited because we had plans to go play America’s Escape Game! These escape room attractions have been popping up all over and I love mysteries and solving clues (I played every Nancy Drew computer game I could get my hands on when I was younger) so I’ve been dying to try this!
Meet Sherlock and Nancy Drew! We all had to come up with code names ?
Here’s how the game works: groups of ten are locked into themed rooms and you have an hour to solve a bunch of puzzles and riddles to try to escape. We were in The Lost Tomb of Monthu so all of the clues were Egyptian themed. Sadly, we didn’t escape in time. We only had two clues left! In our defense, only 9% of teams have successfully escaped so it’s not easy!
After the game, we went to BJ’s for dinner, which was pretty tasty. We tried the Root Beer Glazed Wings as an appetizer and they were delicious! Then, Jeff had fish tacos and I had Parmesan Crusted Chicken which we both enjoyed. My meal was huge though, enough for 3 dinners! We had to try the Pizookie trio for desert because they just looked so good! We did Peanut Butter, Chocolate Chunk and Pumpkin and they were all pretty yummy.
Finally, we headed home for a Fear The Walking Dead marathon. We had so many to catch up on! I’m still not sure if I love that show, it’s a little intense for me. But Jeff is a huge fan of The Walking Dead so I promised I’d give it a try.
Sunday was a relaxing day. For lunch, we went downtown for some BBQ and football. I’m actually doing great in our Fantasy Football League this year, which I’m pretty proud of since I’m the only girl! Girl power!
Jeff had to head to work Sunday night so I took a nap (which felt amazing) and spent the rest of the night cleaning and doing some Fall decorating.
I’m feeling well-prepared for the busy week ahead! I hope everyone has a fantastic week!
